July 12, 1941 - October 14, 2013
Canonsburg native son, CHS - Class of 1959 and good friend... DOMBROWSKI LAWRENCE R. "LARRY" 72, of Orlando, Florida, went to be with his Savior, on October 14, 2013, after an extended illness. Born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania to John and Cecelia Dombrowski. He graduated from Canonsburg High School ('59) where he wrestled and ran cross-country. He lived most of his life in Pleasant Hills, Pennsylvania where he was member and Deacon of Pleasant Hills Community Presbyterian Church. Larry is survived by his best friend and wife of 49 years, Gladyss; son, Michael (Kristel); daughter, Andrea (Brian) Hessinger; nine loving grandchildren; his brother, Kenneth (Joan); and his sister, Joan Sedlitsky; many brothers- in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. A loving husband and father, Larry enjoyed his family and showed his love in carefully researched and selected gifts. An avid and talented photographer, Larry also enjoyed history, golf, cards, and socializing with friends. Generous and outgoing, Larry was known for his ability to strike up a conversation and a friendship with anyone he met. A veteran of the U.S. Navy, Larry was able to travel the world while in the service. A Magna Cum Laude graduate of Florida Technological University (now University of Central Florida), Larry was an avid UCF Knights and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He retired in 2002 from Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory after 27 years, moving to Florida in 2007. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on November 10, 2013 at Woodbury Presbyterian Church in Orlando.
