Re: Jim Herron

OK folks. Email transmission here a bit dicy.  I had quad by-pass & Mitral valve replacement.  Second PT this am.  Muscle memory returning.  The circling MDs (and an OD) appear to be using me for phamaalogic experiments.  Just told that I may be graduated from critical care early.  Then a few days on a PT floor.

No big deal.  I slept through the scary part.

Jim Herron

Feb. 18, 2009

To All:

I wanted to let those who had not heard that Jim Herron is in intensive care in Washington Hospital following major heart surgery. Also wanted to share the following emails from Al Moze regarding Jim Herron's current condition.

Dick Garboski.

Dear Donna,

I did not know anything about Jim, but I will do my darnest to get more info on Jim. I just called a friend of mine who told me that Jim had a 7 hour open heart operation, mitro valve replacement and some other repairs done. They had placed him into a coma for the last 3 days in order for him to heal better, I understand he came out of the coma to-day and is doing well, he was still on a respirator. Jim will be in the C.C.U. for a couple of days, I will try to get in and see him tomorrow, if I can. I will try and keep everyone posted. Al

To all concerned I stop by this morning a spent 2 minutes with Jim. We had a hard time understanding each other. He is Still on the respirator, I understand they want him off as soon as he can.

Yes Jim has a long road to getting back to every day routine. I think the best thing now are our PRAYERS for a quick recovery. Al Moze

If You Cook Like You Walk

Billy Price the "king of rhythm and blues in Pittsburgh" sings "If You Cook Like You Walk," written by Jimmy Britton, the keyboard player in his band.

The performance was part of a March 13, 2008, concert at the Rhythm House in South Fayette Township, Pa.

"Turn it up  - for it's enough to make a grown man cry!"

Billy Price is the stage name of soul singer William Pollak. Born in Fair Lawn, New Jersey in 1949, he has lived in PittsburghPennsylvaniaUSA since the mid 1970s.[1]

Price attracted national attention in the mid-1970s during his three-year collaboration with blues guitarist Roy Buchanan. The pair toured the U.S. and Canada, playing Carnegie Hall in New York, the Newport Jazz Festival, the Roxy and Troubadour in Los Angeles, and the Spectrum in Philadelphia. After leaving Buchanan, Price formed the Keystone Rhythm Band, which toured the Eastern US on a circuit that stretched from Boston to Atlanta with large followings in Boston, Philadelphia, Washington, DC and North Carolina. Sustaining several personnel changes, the band performed until 1990. He then formed The Billy Price Band, which currently consists of Steve Delach (guitar), Paul Thompson (bass), Dave Dodd (drums), Jimmy Britton (keyboards), Joe Herndon (trumpet), Eric DeFade (tenor sax) and Rick Matt (baritone and tenor sax).

Though he works full-time in corporate communications at the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, he continues to perform regularly in Pittsburgh, the eastern United States, and occasionally in Europe.
